January was a tough year, but we made it though.
Omgoodness. Well, it’s February and we’re still knee deep in winter, but little glimmers of sunshine are a reminder that spring is not that far off. February is one of those months that tends to be wet and cold and even though it’s only 28 days long, like January, it can linger. But getting outside more and eating good food most definitely lifts that foggy feeling. Trying new dishes or making some of your favorites is the best excuse to gather with family and friends. It’s the BEST! And as we all know, hanging with your peeps is good medicine especially here in the cloudy, cold northwest. Calibrating mental health is as important as your physical health. Sharing a meal with people who make you smile, whether it’s a four course meal with cocktails and wine or a simple plate of potstickers with a cold beer, cultivates connection and polishes our emotional and spiritual being that supports our mental and physical self. This engagement contributes to the blueprint of everyday life and kind of empowers one to be the architect of their happiness. That journey can simply start by buying what’s in season this month and making a few mealsl.
There’s actually a number of seasonal foods to be found this month ~ all of which can contribute to some amazing dishes. I’ve provided a list of what you can find in markets in February, as well as a few recipes from my blog page that might interest you. Here’s to surviving another few weeks of winter and your experiences with food and the peeps that make you smile.
