SOUP SEASON IS HERE!  Hope your Fall is off to a good start! The weather has been amazing, school is in full swing, as is football, fall leaves and all that makes up this season in the Northwest.

We’re excited to get back in the kitchen and will be there beginning the second week of October.  Because most of our harvesting is done by this week, the second week of October is typically our kick-off week. Our first menu will land in Soup Group member’s inboxes on Thursday, October 9th for the week of October 13th. Soups will be ready for pickup on the 15th. For this first week, we’re planning on fall favorites like Corn Chowder with Peppered Bacon, Farmer’s Market Minestrone with Basil Pesto, our vegan Minestrone with Basil Pistou and a fourth soup that we’re still working on.  More to come on that one!  We’ll also have selection of organic chicken sipping broths and vegetable sipping broths ~ and possibly some grass-fed, pasture-raised beef broth.

Sourcing ingredients has been a bit challenging this season.  As many of you know, we grow a lot of the ingredients that go into our soups, but we don’t have a farm – just a well utilized half acre. So we do rely on local product from ranchers and farmers as well. This summer was tough for many growers, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we source all that we need to make all of your favorite soups and dishes. Things are looking pretty good so far!

For the sake of meal planning for the weeks to come in October, we’re featuring some of the following soups and dishes :  Tom Khaa with Lemongrass Infused Jasmine Rice, Creamy Roasted Heirloom Tomato Basil, Broccoli Cheddar Chive, Moroccan Carrot with Spiced Garbanzos, Peruvian Inspired Quinoa, Corn and Roasted Red Pepper, Lemon Tarragon Chicken with Wild Rice, Six Cheese Mac with Roasted Butternut, Cuban Black Bean with Chili Roasted Pulled Pork, Yellow Curry Cauliflower with Coconut Kale Saute’ ~ just to mention a few

If you’re already on our mailing list, please look for our menu mailer in your inbox on Thursday mornings.  We invite you to order Thursday through Saturday evening ~ and as usual, we encourage you to order early because we tend to sell out!  In the mailer, we’ll be including all the Soup Groups and locations where you can pick up soups if you do not have a group this fall.  If you have questions or know someone who would like to get on our menu mailing list, please reach out to josie@pepperandsaltkitchen.com.

Looking forward to seeing all your faces!

Thank you!
