We are making soups this coming week and with the help of volunteers with R2DToo, getting them out to the many unhoused families and individuals in Delta Park on Wednesday 12/3. We want to thank everyone who donated Thanksgiving week ~ your generous contributions helped buy nutritious, quality organic ingredients for the soup we are making. December and January will be harsh months for many and the ongoing need for food will be heightened. We are mapping out dates to make warming soups for those in need. DOLLARS FOR DELTA
Dollars for Delta is our 2020 Soup Fundraiser! We are excited to be helping those in our community and honored to be lending a hand to people who contribute efforts every day. In coordination with R2DToo (Right2DreamToo) we’re putting forth effort to get food to unhoused families and individuals who are living in Delta Park during these overwhelmingly cold months of COVID. Right2DreamToo is a nonprofit organization operating a space that provides refuge and a safe space to rest or sleep undisturbed for Portland’s unhoused community who cannot access affordable housing or shelter. The organization was established on World Homeless Action Day, Oct. 10th, 2011 and exists to awaken social and political groups to the importance of safe undisturbed sleep. Recently they have taken up the charge to run the new C3PO camps that were created as a result of COVID. We wanted to offer a simple, but affective way for our soup community to donate funds to a cause that will help those in need in our larger community. All money donated by Pepper & Salt customers will go directly towards ingredients to craft warm, nutritious soups. Our hope is to provide soups on several dates over the next few months in coordination with these amazing people who give everyday.
