Heart Health Benefits of eating dahl: Studies have shown that eating high fiber foods like lentils reduces your risk of heart disease. Lentils are also a great source of folate and magnesi-um, which are big contributors to heart health. Folate lowers your homocysteine levels, a se-rious risk factor for heart disease. Magnesium improves blood flow, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Low levels of magnesium have been directly associated with heart disease, so eating lentils will keep your heart happy!

Heart Health Benefits of eating tofu: Tofu is one of those foods that sparks debate. Some people can’t get enough and boast about its versatility and health factors, others refer to it as genetically modified crap and strictly avoid eating it. You decide. I eat it because I love it. However, research has shown that a high intake off legumes, including soy beans are linked to lower rates of heart disease. Soy isoflavones can reduce blood vessel inflammation and im-prove their elasticity. One study found that supplementing with 80 mg of isoflavones per day for 12 weeks improved blood flow by 68% in patients who were at risk of stroke.
In addition, n post-menopausal women, high soy isoflavone intake was linked to several heart protective factors. These included improvements to body mass index, waist circumference, fasting insulin and HDL cholesterol.
